Available Licence Categories

Applications are now being accepted for the following four key licence categories:

1. Commercial Television Broadcasting Licence 
2. Community Television Broadcasting Licence 
3. Commercial Radio Broadcasting Licence 
4. Community Radio Broadcasting Licence 

Strategic Purpose of the ITA

These Invitations to Apply are a crucial step in fulfilling ESCCOM’s mandate to foster a diverse and competitive media environment. The introduction of these additional licences is specifically designed to:

• Promote Competition and significantly broaden the diversity of content available to Eswatini audiences.
• Improve Service Quality and enhance the overall viewing and listening experience for the public.
• Strengthen Community Participation by facilitating local voices and grassroots content creation in broadcasting.
• Support Socio-Economic Development and create employment opportunities for Emaswati.

2. Submission Deadline: Completed applications must be submitted in the prescribed format no later than: 14:00 hours on Tuesday, February 17, 2026
3. Submission Address: All submissions must be physically delivered to: Eswatini Communications Commission Plot 11/850, MR103 Ezulwini, Eswatini

Public Opening of Applications

In adherence to our commitment to transparency, a public opening of all received applications will take place:

• Date: Tuesday, February 17, 2026
• Time: 14:00 hours (Immediately following the submission deadline)
• Venue: ESCCOM Head Office

Terms and Conditions

The Commission reserves the right not to accept any application. Applications will be evaluated strictly according to the Eswatini Broadcasting Act, 2023 and the published evaluation criteria.

Requesting Clarifications

All interested applicants are entitled to seek written clarifications or raise any queries regarding the ITA documents.

• Clarification Deadline: All requests must be received no later than February 27, 2026. No queries will be considered after this date.
• Procedure: Requests for written clarifications shall be addressed to the Chief Executive and submitted via email to: legal@esccom.org.sz
