The Editors Forum is a platform for professional interaction of apex news leaders for interacting with the cultural, economic social and political dynamics that shape the news environment, Members are the title editors of newspapers, broadcast radio and broadcast TV.
Programme Overview
The Forum maintains an active member education programme of engagement with leaders from the cultural, economic, political and social sectors to broaden their understanding of their ecosystem and contribute to ongoing learning.
Over the past Quarter Century, the Editors Forum platform has
become the normative point of contact for leaders from all sectors to share
information on current and emerging issues and contribute to the national
narrative that shapes the texture and fabric of Swazi society.
The Forum also appreciates the importance of succession planning
and to ensure that emerging leaders in the news media absorb the principles and
values from the profession practices and mentorship of current editors. For
this reason, senior journalists with responsibility for departments also join
the Editors Forum.
The Forum has an active structured annual programme for capacity
development of its members and conducts a Master Class for leadership
development in association with the University of Eswatini. The programme seeks
to up-skill journalists to adapt with new trends, emerging thinking, as well as
innovations in the application of technologies.
Other periodic short courses and seminars are arranged both
in-country as well as regionally.
